Process is any means used by a court to exercise its jurisdiction over a person or specific property. Different courts require different forms of process.
For example:
Process servers will receive documents ready for service and log these documents into a docket book. Once executed, they will make return of the process to the appropriate court agency. This return certifies that service has been made and the document properly delivered. At present, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office employs 5 full-time and 3 part-time process servers.
